It was a BEAUTIFUL fall morning, and I found my way to Fort Langley, to hang with this lovely group of people. Their home was right by the river, and the light that morning was stunning. LOVE was in the air, and you could feel it from every angle and every moment. I could have spent all day with them.
This is the second time I have been lucky enough to spend time capturing this lovely family, and their spunky, happy children. One of my favourite ways to get to know a family is to take photos in their home. It's a safe and comfortable place, and everyone relaxes and is content to be themselves. This is where magic happens, and it's really what life is about. I believe it's these moments that we want to treasure when we look back on life.
When you meet up with a family of four boys, you know it's going to be a fun session. These boys kept me on my toes, and I loved every minute of it. We played games, sang songs, and explored. There is so much love in this family, and I was honoured to capture it.
I had soooo much fun with this amazing family! We spent time playing dutch blitz, twister, basketball, and just hanging out in their beautiful new house. There is so much love for these three boys, and I have to say they are the coolest. There was so much respect for each other, and I was honoured to spend time with them and capture their connection as a family.
It was a lovely evening when I met up with this gorgeous, (and tall!) couple at the Popkum wetlands. The sun was setting and we spent some time laughing and sharing in the anticipation of the new little one about to join there lives. I really have to say that these two are so in love, and there will be no shortage of love for this new baby.
On a lovely early summer morning, I met this wonderful family at the Blue Heron reserve, and I spent some time running after the most adorable little two year old, who kept me laughing and on my toes.
It was a cloudy, windy but beautiful evening when l met my friend Nolene and her extended family at Harrison Lake for a fun family shoot. They were celebrating the anniversary of her lovely parents, and you could just feel the love they all had for each other. And I must say, there are some pretty adorable children in this family.
It was a rainy rainy day on Granville island in Vancouver but we still found ways to capture the love of this beautiful couple. I was honoured to capture their special day and the joining together of two lovely and joyful families. A candlelit ceremony and a group of amazing friends and family came together to witness a magical evening.
It's been a crazy few months since this session, but I'm catching up on my blog posts. These two were such a hoot and so excited for their little one to arrive. Courtney is an incredible E.A where I teach and Colin is a wood working teacher and both are amazing with children. After this session they were blessed witha beautiful little boy and he is so lucky to have such wonderful parents.
It had been raining all day, but as soon as we stepped outside, the sun peeked through the clouds, and it was a perfect afternoon for a walk through the forest. This lovely couple are expecting their first baby, and you could feel the love as they spent time in a secret forest they walk every week. I was honoured to tag along and capture their excitement as they wait for their little one to arrive.
On a blustery cold day, as the sun set, I met with The Braun's to take some photos. We bundled up, and braved the cold. Despite the wind, it was a beautiful late afternoon, and the warm winter light danced through the trees. It was magical.
Mallory contacted me in October to set up a photo session, and it took us a while to make it happen because of the crazy rainy weather we've been having. But on Monday, we headed out to find the last of the colourful leaves. This lovely family of three has recently moved to Chiiliwack, and they are making this beautiful place home. It was fitting to join them on a walk in their new neighbourhood, and capture their connection and love.
After many days of rain, I was so excited for a sunny photo shoot, and on Sunday morning, when the sun started to peek over the mountains, my heart leaped with excitement. It was a chilly morning, but that didn't stop this lovely family from having some fun. Running in the wet field, watching salmon jump in the creek, throwing leaves in the water, and spending time together. I have known the Lodder's for several years, and I have always admired the way they interact with their children. Their love and connection as a family is heart warming, and I was honoured to capture a little slice of their lives, on a beautiful, colourful and sunny fall day.
Thanksgiving Monday morning. The forecast called for full sun, and I was so excited to get out and do a morning sunrise shoot. As we all drove to the location, the clouds didn't budge and the sun refused to peek out behind the mountains. But, it was a crisp fall morning and it wasn't raining, and so we all just went with the flow.
I adore this family. They were so willing to step in puddles and mud, climb hills, and just hang out with me as I captured their kind and gentle spirits. Even their youngest, just sat on the road collecting rocks. Although the sun didn't shine, their love for each other shined brightly.
I met Melody and her daughter, Jennifer in a Music Together class, and we spent three years sitting across the music circle with our children, singing "Trot, old Joe" and the "Hello song."
We watched our little ones develop and change each week. This year I haven't been attending music class, and so when Melody contacted me to take photos of her family, I was very happy to see her and spend time on an evening walk with her and Jennifer, along with her two beautiful dogs.
We walked along Peach Ponds, and it was a glorious fall evening. You could feel the love as the sun set behind the mountains.
It was a beautiful day for a photo shoot, and I am so lucky to have spent some time with a dear friend and her lovely children. Natasha is a beautiful woman, inside and out, and an amazing mother. We have been friends for several years after connecting over the struggles and joys of motherhood. She and her husband, along with her two adorable children, are off to the Philippines for a six month adventure. Jared wasn't able to join us for the shoot, because he was up North working, but his love for his family was definitely surrounding this beautiful family.
I'm so excited to hear about their experience in the Philippines. Safe travels my friends.
